If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like running a mother–daughter business… buckle up.
Some days are productive.
Some days are chaotic.
And some days feel like a sitcom we didn’t audition for.
Here’s a peek behind the curtain into a “typical” (and yes, we use that word very loosely) day in our world:
6:30 AM — Nikki’s Up. Alyssa Isn’t.
Nikki: reviewing emails, checking inventory, sipping coffee like it’s medicine.
Alyssa: unconscious.
If you ever book a morning appointment, just know there was probably a negotiation involved.
9:00 AM — Chain Choices & Life Lessons
This is usually when real work begins.
We lay out chains, prep tools, and chat about business ideas… which often turns into life advice, which turns into jokes, which turns into laughing too hard to be productive.
11:00 AM — Appointments + Good Vibes
This is our favorite part of the day — meeting new people, hearing stories, sharing moments, and creating jewelry that actually means something.
We laugh a lot.
We cry sometimes.
We love every minute of it.
2:00 PM — Snacks. Always Snacks.
All great business decisions happen over snacks.
Chain orders? Snack.
Scheduling? Snack.
Website updates? Absolutely a snack.
4:00 PM — School Life Takes Over
If it’s a weekday, this is when Alyssa switches into homework mode… or at least pretends to. Nikki helps with math until she remembers she’s an accountant, then wonders why the math looks different than it did in the 90s.
6:00 PM — The “We Should Probably Do Business Stuff Again” Hour
Evenings are for regrouping.
We check what we used that day, prep for upcoming appointments, answer messages, and plan social posts.
Sometimes we’re efficient.
Sometimes we get distracted watching videos of dogs wearing sunglasses.
9:00 PM — Reflection Time
Before the night ends, we usually sit for a minute and talk about the day. The people we met. The stories they shared. The moments we got to be part of.
That’s what keeps us going.
That’s why this business means so much to us.
Being mom & daughter entrepreneurs isn’t perfect or polished.
It’s messy.
It’s funny.
It’s emotional.
It’s ours.
And we wouldn’t trade a single chaotic moment of it.
